Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I’ll never switch place with.

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different Top 10 theme each week.  This week’s topic is Places Mentioned in Books that I’d Like to Visit. This topic was quite easy for me. I’ve always wanted to visit most of these places.

Characters I'll never switch places with

Last week’s theme was Places mentioned in books I’d like to visit, and we are back this week to discuss Characters I’ll never switch places with. Full disclosure: the theme was Character I would switch place with, but after thinking about it, I realize that I mostly read YA contemporary or Fantasy. I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to go back to high school even for a day. As for Fantasy, the only thing most likely to happen is that I’ll die.

In other words, the theme doesn’t work for me. I decided then to switch things around and came up with the characters I would never want to switch places with, even if you decided to pay me a hefty amount of gold. So without further ado, here they are.

7 characters I’ll never switch places with.

Katniss Everdeen – The Hunger Game by Suzanne Collins

For obvious reasons, I would never want to trade with her life – before or after and even for one day. The only thing that’s most likely to happen is that I last less than a day in there.

Arya Stark – Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

Arya may be one of my favorite characters. She is brave, adaptable, and smart, but she also has a very dark side. I think I would also end up dead pretty fast in her world.

Frodo Baggins – The Lords of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

I don’t know how many times you can resist temptations like that while running for your life. This is an act of bravery you can accomplish with great support.  I truly love this story but would never want it.

Claire Densmore – Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

As much as she is adorable, there is no part in me who would want her gift. She is a fun character though.

Elias Veturius – Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I’m starting to think that the author may have something against him. LOL The poor thing is going through so much. This character is resilient and smart, but seriously… I don’t think I would last 5 minutes in his world.

Nesta Archeron – A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

This character is only because if I could hear myself talk (like her), I would want to strangle myself. Nesta annoys the living hell out of me.

Aelin Ashryver Galathynius – Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

She is such a badass character. I love her, but she also has a mile long list of enemies, and I’m not as skilled as she is, so I would likely last 5 minutes in her world.

Which character’s life does not even remotely interest you? Let me know by dropping a line in the comment.

If you are doing this meme, don’t hesitate to comment with your link. I’ll be more than happy to read it 🙂 I’m also doing another book challenge if you’re interested. Check it out! It’s called Pages Read 2019.

Happy Reading!
