Upon their arrival, the girls are plagued by dreams in which dark spectral beings haunt them.

Bookstagram and Thoughts – The Secret of Dartwood Manor by N.A. Triptow
This book does an excellent at pulling the reader into the story right from the start. The prologue immediately made me want to know what would happen next. This book definitely has an (new) adult feel to it in both the prose and story. I know this is a retelling of Sense and Sensibility, but I haven’t read it so I can’t say how close it is.
What I enjoyed is that the mystery builds up nicely and the world building and characters create this ominous feel that keeps you captivated. There are secrets to uncover with twists and turns. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters, the sisters, Baden and Evan were very interesting to get to know.
Also, let’s be honest, the moment you say witch, I’m there and this book delivers. This book is great for fans of witches, myth and fantasy. I’m curious for the next book for sure.

Author of young adult contemporary fantasy and retellings, from fairy tales to classics, N. A. Triptow graduated from The University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in English Teaching with minors in History Teaching, Theatre, and British Studies. She teaches high school English and Film Studies. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Strategic Communication and Advertising from Purdue University. In her free time, you can find her reading, watching and analyzing movies and television shows, attending the theatre, going on walks or hikes, and playing board or video games with family and friends. She lives in Utah.
