Vex failed to save Lu and Ben—and that torments him as much as his Shaking Sickness. With the disease worsening, Vex throws himself into the rebellion against Argrid. The remaining free armies are allied with the stream raider syndicates—and getting them to cooperate will take a strength Vex thought burned on a pyre six years ago.

Imprisoned, betrayed, and heartbroken, Ben is determined to end his father’s rampage. Watching Elazar sway the minds of Grace Loray as he did those of Argrid, Ben knows he has to play his father’s game of devotion to win this war. But how can a heretic prince defeat the Pious God?

Their only hope is to find Nomi’s sister, Serina, on the prison island of Mount Ruin. But when Nomi and Malachi arrive, it is not the island of conquered, broken women that they expected. It is an island in the grip of revolution, and Serina–polite, submissive Serina–is its leader.

Betrayal, grief, and violence have changed both sisters, and the women of Mount Ruin have their sights set on revenge beyond the confines of their island prison. They plan to sweep across the entire kingdom, issuing in a new age of freedom for all. But first they’ll have to get rid of Asa, and only Nomi knows how.

Separated once again, this time by choice, Nomi and Serina must forge their own paths as they aim to tear down the world they know, and build something better in its place.

  1. I’m really curious for the second shadow of the fox book. And I have Finale on pre-order haha. My most anticipated sequel for this year was The True Queen which I already have in my possession and read. So I am happy regardless haha.

  2. Thanks for this list, very useful. I’m really looking forward to Children of Virtue and Vengence… hope it doesn’t get pushed back again.

I really didn’t like Grace and Fury, but I have a morbid curiosity about the sequel… I might grab it from the library just to see if it’s different.

    1. ahaha! I know exactly what you mean. I’ve had this happen to me before. You don’t really enjoy the story, but still, there is something you want to know.
Glad you found this list helpful 🙂 I look forward to reading all of them.
