Unboxing and Review – May 2019 UPPERCASE BOX

May 2019 Uppercase Box

Uppercase Box is a monthly young adult book box subscription. In other words, the company delivers once a month a young adult fantasy book at your door along with a few bookish items. The book is usually a newly released book handpicked by the owners for you. Often, the book is signed or comes with a signed bookplate, but it’s not always the case.

***This post contains spoilers.***

Disclaimer: This box was gifted to me by Uppercase Box in exchange for an honest review.

The Unboxing

Pictures will be up on my Instagram tomorrow, check it out. But please find below the pictures of the unboxing.

This box contains the following:

  • Signed Hardcover of Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen – I read this book last month (arc through NetGalley) and it was one of my best reads so far this year. Here is the spoiler-free review. I highly recommend reading this book. It is a fantastic YA Fantasy novel. Looking at the theme next month, I guessed the book and I can say that the book provided in their box are well-worth it.
  • Dark Shores Decal – This is a gorgeous and high-quality decal. Very cute!
  • Anne of Green Gables socks (Uppercase exclusive) – I have a picture later in the post of me wearing them. They are super comfy.
  • 2 “Believe in YourShelf” Cards (Uppercase exclusive – These cards are super cute. I saw postcards in the past, but never cards in a book box subscription. The design is stunning and the cards are actually I can see myself use.
  • 1 Bookmark with codes for an enhanced reading experience. So this bookmark is awesome. I’ve never seen anything like this in any other book box subscriptions, and I’ve received quite a few. There are codes at a designated page that gives you access to either a question, a video or a letter from the author. The share/link provided on page 182 blew my mind. Do not look at them before you reach the page indicated in the books or you’ll get spoilers. I looked at all of them because I’ve already read this book. This is such a wonderful idea.

Overall, I felt like Uppercase is a wonderful compromise between the companies that offer boxes with a signed book and at least 5-6 big bookish items and companies that only offer the book. I would say Uppercase is perfect for those of you who want the best of both worlds. From what I’ve seen so far, the book would also be my month if I were in their shoes, and the items are just enough and high quality.
