In November 2018, I reviewed The Wrong Bachelor, a hilarious and charming young adult (YA) Romance written by indie author, Alexandra Moody. The story was such a fun read that I couldn’t resist reading I Hate You More when I saw it was from the same author. This book is a laugh-out-loud YA contemporary/romance published on June 10, 2019.

She’s desperate to get rid of him. Luckily, her friends have a genius plan to ensure Ally’s over-protective father kicks Chase out of the house for good.

Review
I Hate You More presents the story of Ally Lockwood, who discovers that her sworn enemy—and also her brother’s best friend—will live with her family during her senior year of high school. Ally refuses the situation. She is not about to ruin what is supposed to be the best year of her life by living with someone who infuriates her at every corner. She attempts everything in her power to get rid of him, but Chase Williams never backs down from a fight.
Overall, this book was a pleasant read. While not as original as Moody’s previous book, the story is very entertaining. The enemy-to-lover trope is one of my favorites, so it was interesting to see how it all unfolds.
The point of view alternates between Ally and Chase, and I have to admit that I prefer the scenes from Chase’s point of view. His character goes through a lot and is more complex. He is clearly the most mature character. Ally is a nice character but a bit annoying at times. She learns from her mistakes, though, and her arc is the one that shows the most growth.
The story captures high school life well. The banter is downright hilarious. This is a fast read, and I recommend I Hate You More to all lovers of cute YA romance and enemy-to-lover trope.
