Modern technologies gave all of us access to an incredible amount of information. We have social media, newspapers, libraries, radios and many more ways of getting information. This amount of information is so important that quantity prevails over quality. Reading interesting content requires more research on our part and more research means more time. For those who watch the new TV show “The Good Place,” I’d love to have a Janet who basically appears every time you need information and tells you everything you need to know. Instead, we have no Janet and have to look through a crazy amount of articles, books, videos or podcasts to grasp the real essence of the topic. So, when I stumbled upon Flipboard, a social news magazine, it was a game changer.
Whatever you are into, whatever interests you, you will find it there. It only requires a fairly quick setting where you can select everything you’re interested in. If you heard about Flipboard before, then this is old news. However if you haven’t, sit tight because I’m going to tell about the 3 main advantages of using it.
#1 – Go faster to the point – Time saving tool.
First and foremost, this tool is a time saver. I can access great content from various sources related to my main interests without doing extensive research. Let’s be honest, internet is great, but you have to go through a lot to find what you’re truly looking for. Time is unfortunately something we don’t have in our modern life. Like most people, every day is about going to work, taking care of the family, going to whatever sport, dance, event or hobby you have going on, getting house chores done, and writing… the list can go on and on. Flipboard isn’t a magic wand that will get all of the above done, but it does free a little bit of time and helps you get information fast.
#2 – Share and Connect with others.
Flipboard also allows you to share the content you find valuable with your followers. Sharing buttons are readily available for you to publish it on a variety of social media. Your followers will appreciate reading content that matters to them.
You can also add the content/articles to a magazine. The Magazines are folders sorted by themes you create and it’s available to everyone. It’s a great way for you to easily find the articles you liked best or want to read later. It also gives a way for people to follow your Magazines if they believe what you added is worth their time.
You can also follow people who share the same interest as you, look into what they’ve shared and find even more valuable content. This sharing of information also grows your audience, as these individuals are more likely to enjoy reading similar contents.
#3 – Increase your blog traffic.
By creating a Magazine, you can also add your own articles and get them in front of a wider audience that you wouldn’t normally have access to them. Flipboard will send you a notification every time someone likes one of your articles or “flip” (add) your story in their own magazine. Ultimately, this is great for generating traffic on your blog and getting your content maximum exposure.

Flipboard collects articles from various websites and blogs so it can be overwhelming at first, but if you type the right keywords you will find the best results for what you’re looking. Keep in mind this is a social news magazine so you will get greater response based on the topic you are researching. Overall, this is a great tool to use.
