About Me | Fearless YA Book Reviewer & Fantasy Obsessed

About Me

Welcome, fellow book lover!

If you’ve stumbled onto this page, consider yourself warned—you might not leave the same. (Okay, not really… but wouldn’t that make for a great fantasy plot twist?)

I’m L.M. Durand—coffee enthusiast, dreamer, and unapologetic YA fantasy addict. If you can’t already tell from the photo, coffee is my love language. Whether it’s the rich aroma of freshly brewed espresso or the speed and convenience of instant coffee (because let’s be honest, I’m not always fancy), it fuels my mornings and most of my late-night reading binges.

Originally from France, I now call Los Angeles home—though I’ll admit I lean fully into the French clichés: wine, bread, and cheese are basically their own irresistible indulgences.

Why YA Fantasy?

Because who doesn’t want to dive into epic adventures, magical realms, and unforgettable characters who inspire us to dream bigger? YA fantasy is about more than escape—it’s about transformative journeys, limitless imagination, and discovering pieces of ourselves in impossible places.

My Journey

I studied Literature and Foreign Languages before moving into a career in HR (because bills, right?). I’ve traveled far and wide, met extraordinary people, and collected inspiring stories along the way. But the one story I hadn’t written yet? My own.

For years, writing a novel was a dream of mine, but I didn’t dare chasing it. Then I became a mom, and everything changed. I wanted to show my child that dreams aren’t meant to be shelved. That’s when I stopped making excuses and started writing.

Writing has become more than just a passion—it’s my creative sanctuary, my escape, and a little piece of magic in my everyday life. My blog is where I share this love of stories, connect with fellow readers, and celebrate the boundless joy books bring.
